Andrea M. Gherini Esq. - Managing Attorney/Owner

Andrea is a member of the North San Diego County Bar Association and served as Co-Chair of the Trusts & Estate Section in 2007-2009. Andrea is also a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and served as President of the Southern California Chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys from 2015-2016. Andrea was selected as Chapter Member of the Year by the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys in 2016 and received received the Wiley W. Manuel Award from the State Bar of California for pro bono service in 2008.

 

 Andrea has taught courses in Probate Administration to lawyers and other legal professionals on behalf of the National Business Institute and taught courses in Elder Law to lawyers on behalf of Eldercounsel and Law Review CLE.   Andrea regularly lectures on topics of concern to families in the areas of estate planning and elder law for Alzheimer's San Diego.

 

Andrea achieved an AV peer review rating from Martindale-Hubbell of Preeminent and, in 2022, was recognized on the list of San Diego Super Lawyers. 

Andrea Gherini has been  a lawyer for over thirty-five years. She graduated cum laude from the University of Southern California  with a Bachelor of Arts in History. She attended Loyola Law School, Los Angeles and graduated with Dean List Honors with her Juris Doctorate in 1981.  While a law student,  Andrea served as summer intern for the Honorable Justice William P. Clark of the California Supreme Court.

 

For the first ten years of her practice, Andrea represented business owners handling real estate and securities matters. However, she learned that her true calling  was helping families with the often complicated, confusing, and emotional decisions they confront  while trying to provide for themselves, or their children,  or care for a loved one who is aging, or has a disability.    The mission of  Andrea’s practice is to listen, with compassion,  to the needs expressed by  her clients and to apply her professional expertise to craft individualized solutions to her clients’ problems in the areas of Estate Planning, Elder Law, Conservatorships, Guardianships, Probate,  Trust Administration, and Medi-Cal planning. Andrea cares about the people she represents, whether working for the benefit of the elderly, the young, or families. She has a gentle, efficient manner and understands the problems facing families in these areas.
